Publication Ethics

All parties involved in the publication process of this scientific journal, namely the manager, editor, reviewer, and author, fully comply with and fulfill the policies and principles of the scientific publication code of ethics. This statement of scientific publication ethics is based on LIPI Regulation Number 5 of 2014 concerning the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publication, which essentially upholds three ethical values in publication, namely (i) Neutrality, which is free from conflicts of interest in publication management; (ii) Fairness, which is giving authorship rights to those who are entitled to be authors/writers; and (iii) Honesty, which is free from duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism (DF2P) in publications.

Duties and Responsibilities of Journal Managers

  1. Determining the name of the journal, scientific scope, periodicity, and accreditation, if necessary. 
  2. Determining the membership of the editorial board. 
  3. Defining the relationship between the publisher, editor, peer reviewers, and other parties in a contract.
  4. Respect confidentiality, both for contributing researchers, authors/writers, editors, and peer reviewers. 
  5. Apply norms and provisions regarding intellectual property rights, especially copyright. 
  6. Review journal policies and communicate them to authors/writers, the editorial board, peer reviewers, and readers. 
  7. Creating a code of conduct for editors and peer reviewers. 
  8. Publishing the journal regularly. 
  9. Ensuring the availability of funding for the sustainability of journal publication. 
  10. Building cooperation and marketing networks. Preparing licensing and other legal aspects.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Editor

  1. Bringing together the needs of readers and authors/writers
  2. Striving for continuous improvement in the quality of publications
  3. Implementing processes to ensure the quality of published works
  4. Promoting freedom of expression objectively
  5. Maintaining the integrity of authors' academic records
  6. Communicating corrections, clarifications, retractions, and apologies when necessary
  7. Being responsible for the style and format of written works, while the content and all statements in written works are the responsibility of the author/writer
  8. Actively seeking the opinions of authors, readers, peer reviewers, and editorial board members to improve the quality of publications
  9. Encouraging the evaluation of journals when findings are made
  10. Supporting initiatives to reduce research and publication errors by requesting authors to attach an Ethics Clearance form that has been approved by the Ethics Clearance Commission
  11. Supporting initiatives to educate researchers about publication ethics
  12. Reviewing the effects of publication policies on the attitudes of authors and peer reviewers and improving them to increase accountability and minimize errors
  13. Be open to new opinions or views that may conflict with personal opinions. 
  14. Do not defend your own opinions, those of authors, or those of third parties that may result in biased decisions. 
  15. Encourage authors/writers to revise their work until it is suitable for publication

Duties and Responsibilities of Bestari Partners

  1. Assigned by the editor to review manuscripts and submit the results of the review to the editor as material for determining the suitability of a manuscript for publication. 
  2. Reviewers may not review manuscripts in which they are involved, either directly or indirectly. 
  3. Maintain the privacy of authors by not disseminating corrections, suggestions, and recommendations by providing criticism, suggestions, input, and recommendations. 
  4. Encourage authors to improve their manuscripts. 
  5. Re-review manuscripts that have been revised according to the specified standards.
  6. Manuscripts are reviewed in a timely manner according to the style of the publication based on scientific principles (data collection methods, author legality, conclusions, etc.).

Duties and Responsibilities of the Author

  1. Ensuring that those included in the list of authors meet the criteria as authors. 
  2. Being collectively responsible for the work and content of the article, including methods, analysis, calculations, and details. 
  3. Declaring the source of resources (including funding), both directly and indirectly. 
  4. Explaining the limitations of the research. 
  5. Responding to comments made by peer reviewers in a professional and timely manner. 
  6. Informing the editor if the author intends to withdraw the manuscript.

Make a statement that the written work submitted for publication is original, has never been published anywhere in any language, and is not currently being submitted to another publisher.
